KBFind: Personalized Knowledgebase Organizer

When browsing, it is common to find web pages that contain information important enough to retain permanently for reference. In some cases, such pages are only available temporarily, creating the need to save them to your local hard disk. It is helpful to save such files in a central place, such as a directory called 'notes' or 'kb'. As you accumulate such files, this directory becomes a personalized knowledgebase that you may want to reference from time to time. This feature of StartGen is designed to help you search this knowledgebase to retrieve relevant files efficiently.

After entering a search string, and indicating whether you want to search file names, full text of the files, or both, click the Find button (binnoculars) to create a list of every file containing the search string. As you point to files in the list, the content of the file is displayed in the viewing area below with the first occurance of the string highlighed. The Find Next button will take you to the next occurance of the string within that file.

Doubleclicking a file opens it in your browser if it has an "htm" extention, or in notepad if it has a "txt" extension.

The Filter button doesn't apply to the KB option. Clicking the A,B,C..Z buttons will restrict the list of matching files to those beginning with the designated letter.
