Setting up Shortcut key for Launching SGenMenu
The first step is to place a SGenMenu shortcut on your Windows 95 Desktop. As mentioned on other help pages, SGenMenu gives you a convenient way to launch the various StartGen modules or your links. You can do this in one of two ways:

Drag the original SGenMenu icon from the StartGen 3.1 folder to your Windows desktop.
Or open Explorer, navigate to the folder containing StartGen, right click the SGenMenu file, and select the 'Create Shortcut' option, and then drag this new shortcut to your desktop.

Once you have a shortcut on your desktop, right click the new shortcut icon and select the 'Properties' option from the popup menu.

Select the 'Shortcut' tab.

Press Alt-K to move the mouse pointer to the 'Shortcut key' property, or just click the white box that says 'None'.

Press the letter key you want to use as a shortcut. Windows will add 'Ctrl-Alt' automatically. For example, if you press 'S', then you can launch SGenMenu by pressing the 'Ctrl', 'Alt', and 'S' keys simultaneously.

Click the "OK" button to save your changes.

When you launch SGenMenu, a popup menu will appear wherever the mouse pointer happens to be positioned. You can they use the mouse to select an option.
